The Arc Davidson County
& Greater Nashville
The Arc was founded in 1952 by parents and friends of children and adults with intellectual disabilities. We are Nashville's chapter of The Arc of The United States, the nation's largest membership disability organization. Our members are people with disabilities as well and their families, friends and supporters in Davidson and surrounding counties. We support, protect, and advocate on behalf of more than five thousand children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. Over seven hundred individuals are enrolled in our service and support program in Davidson and twenty other counties in Middle Tennessee. In partnership with our national, state and other local chapters, we campaign for public awareness and for policies that benefit all of our constituents as well as other people with disabilities. To inquire about our services, please contact us or call us at (615) 321-5699.

Future Planning
The Arc Davidson County & Greater Nashville can help families create a plan when no plan is in place for the future. This service is free of charge and the plan can include information about all aspects of a person’s life.
Housing for those with I/DD
The Arc believes people with I/DD, have a right to live in their own homes. Children and youth belong with families. Adults should control where and with whom they live, including having opportunities to rent or buy their own homes, and must have the freedom to choose their daily routines and activities.
